How /Reach Works
How /Reach Works:
Overview
- If you’re reading this slide, you’re likely already onboarded onto /Reach—but it’s worth reviewing the steps on how to join and use /Reach, especially if you’ve not used our Version 2 on Base.
- If you were here in our early days: now, we’re gasless, faster, and, once you have a referral code, you can sign up with just an X account! A built-in custodial Base wallet enhances security and ease of use.
- You might like to onboard a friend with an account they’d like to grow, so they can learn with you, so we’ve included the steps in this training
- We are constantly upgrading and improving the platform: the most up to date source of truth is not this training—the /Reach documentation page is continually updated, and our Discord announcements and X account are great for fresh /Reach news
- We will look at how to sign up, how to acquire $reach (the token which powers our platform), how to set and complete missions, tiers of missions, and member rewards.
Signing Up For /Reach
- Everyone taking this training has joined the /Reach platform, but in case you want to onboard a friend we’ve included the steps.
- To join /Reach as a new member, you’ll need a referral code from a friend.
- Next, link your X account to /Reach: go to https://app.getreach.xyz/welcome and follow the steps.
- To sign up for Reach, all you need is an account on X. It can’t be a fresh account with no followers/activity—sign up with an X profile you’ve been using for a little while.
- In /Reach’s first version, members needed to connect an ETH wallet—now, all members, new and returning, use a built-in Base wallet that we provide (explained in a following step).
Qualifying X Accounts
- Quality engagement on X, and our $reach rewards, are valuable, so unethical people will use unfair techniques to get them without putting in the work.
- One is spamming: posting repetitive, meaningless or low effort content to do missions.
- Another is botting: software, running X accounts to grind $reach without a real human ever engaging with the missions.
- Spam and bots are ubiquitous on X—that’s why we need /Reach. For /Reach to work we have to keep spam and bots out—which is why not all X accounts qualify for the platform.
- We automatically evaluate every X account that signs up, and only accounts that look like they belong to real people get access to the platform.
- In order to make it harder to game the system we don’t disclose the exact rubric, which is continually adapted to stay up to date with the X algorithm and spammer/bot tactics.
Health Check And Referral Codes
- Although we can’t share precise details, in general, /Reach conducts a health check at signup, excluding X accounts that look like spam or bots.
- X accounts should be at least a few weeks old, with some genuine activity: not just mindless reposts, but original posts and replies.
- Having a few dozen non-bot followers (without following huge numbers of accounts!) is helpful.
- If your account didn’t pass the health check, a good strategy is to make a fresh account and use it, lightly but regularly, to engage with interesting people and content. In a few weeks, it should be able to gain access.
- Avoid any shortcuts; genuine engagement over time is the best and easiest way to get your X account past the health check!
- To earn a referral code—useable to onboard friends to /Reach, you’ll need to earn or spend 40,000 $reach—this can be done quite quickly just by completing many missions, setting your own missions, and growing your X account organically.
- Your code can be used to invite multiple friends to /Reach, and you’ll receive a portion of their earnings! They will still need their X account to pass the health check to use the platform.
Your Dashboard
- Once you’ve connected an X account, the /Reach app will load your dashboard.
- Here is where you can complete missions, set your own, and track and claim your rewards.
- Everything is powered by our economic token, $reach, on the Base L2 chain, so we’ve partnered with Particle Network to create a built-in Base wallet tied to your X account.
- The dashboard is designed to be straightforward and easy to use, with an intuitive design—and we are continually rolling out new features!
Your Wallet
- Your wallet page shows how much $reach you hold and your public address.
- You can earn $reach by doing missions and send yourself $reach from another account or the market.
- You can also send $reach to any address from this wallet page.
- Your /Reach wallet is custodial, meaning we handle the private keys for you. This means your hard-earned rewards are protected by our world-class security and are safe from any potential risks, such as compromise of your device.
- If you are an early /Reach member you’ll need to send your $reach from your original connected wallet to this new custodial wallet to use it on the platform.
Buying $reach
- You can buy $reach directly from your wallet—first, send Base ETH to your public wallet address.
- The Base ETH should appear after a minute or two. Then choose the amount of $reach wanted and click Buy Tokens.
- A Particle window will pop up and ask you to confirm the transaction.
- /Reach pays the transaction fee. In a few minutes your $reach will appear.
Bridging $reach
- $reach began as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum mainnet. In April 2024 we migrated the platform to Base, an Ethereum L2.
- You can bridge any mainnet $reach to Base via Superbridge—click the Bridge Reach button in your /Reach wallet.
- On Superbridge, connect any Web3 wallet holding mainnet $reach (and ETH for gas), bridge, and send Base $reach directly to your /Reach wallet.
- If you have any problems getting $reach or using your wallet please check out our documentation, and file a ticket in our discord if you need any assistance.
Missions Overview
- The core activity on /Reach is missions: a call to action to perform an activity that amplifies a message across social media.
- We’re expanding soon to other platforms, but right now all mission activity takes place on X.
- Engage missions call for engagement with a post on X: likes, plus either reposts or replies.
- Mention missions ask for mentions of a particular X account in an original post, with context.
- Bio missions ask members to add a specific piece of text to their bio section on their X profile.
- Soon, other mission types, like attending a Space on X, will go live.
- To amplify a post on X, set a mission, customize its audience and duration, and pay with $reach.
- To earn $reach rewards, engage with missions. The higher quality your account on X achieves overall, the bigger reward multiplier you get on each engagement.
Creating Missions
- To create a mission, click Create Mission on your dashboard.
- To create an Engage mission, click Engage in Select Mission Type. You can also choose a Mention or Bio mission.
- For Engage, on Tweet link, enter in the direct link to the X post you’d like to amplify.
- For Type, select the topic of the X post.
- To create a Bio mission, you’ll need the text you’re asking members to add to their bios to get rewards, plus an image (like your logo or profile picture) that members will see on the mission within our app.
- To create a Mention mission, you’ll need to specify the X account you’re asking members to mention, plus the context in which the mention should be used in the member’s post. You can also set the topic for the mission.
- Be sure to make your mission goals clear and achievable for our /Reach members—easy to understand missions get more participation.
- Mention and Bio missions have a fixed reward, but Engage mission rewards can be fine tuned.
Engage Mission Parameters
- While Bio and Mention missions have fewer options to set, Engage missions can be finely tuned to give you the right type and amount of amplification from our members.
- The platform shows a preview of the post so you can confirm it’s working.
- Set the preferred duration of your mission: 1 hour, 6 hours, or 1 day.
- Choose audience: open to everyone, or only to /Reach Premium members, who maintain higher quality to access higher reward missions.
- Longer missions, premium audiences, and higher bonus rewards add up, so it pays to be strategic!
- A Bonus Reward in $reach can be set to entice members to complete your mission—it is divided between those who completed it.
- Once you’ve set parameters, click Create Mission and authorize in your /Reach wallet. Your mission will appear in the Missions tab on the /Reach app. We cover all transaction fees..
Completing Missions
- Doing missions is how you earn $reach. You’ll be credited after the mission ends, but this can take up to 48 hours.
- Three actions are counted: liking, reposting and replying.
- Go to the Missions tab in the app, and Click “Go To Mission” to see missions available to you. Click one and it will open your X app so you can engage.
- At the bottom of the mission feed is a filter button. You can filter missions by category, Premium status, and whether they’re active or expired.
- For maximum rewards on Engage missions, once you’ve liked a post, either repost OR reply! We heavily penalize doing all three actions! This makes our engagement more organic.
- Doing all three actions on a mission will actually reduce the rewards you get for it. Read more about reward metrics here.
- Reward amounts vary based on mission type and audience. Your Reach Level will add a multiplier to your rewards for each mission.
- For example, if you’re Level 2, your rewards are multiplied by 2.
- Premium missions only show up if you’ve a /Reach Level higher than 2. There are also other human and automated reviews completed before you get access to these missions.
Mission Rewards
- Rewards are granted based on four factors: your /Reach level, your number of interactions with the mission, number of mission participants, and the relevancy of your reply.
- Organic engagement that comes from a place of genuine interest is key to getting maximum rewards.
- We also airdrop a portion of our platform profits to holders of over 100k $reach: this will soon be trackable on our app.
- You can view and claim your rewards on your dashboard, and send them out, swap them for WETH or use them to create your own missions.
- Transaction fees for setting missions, rewards claims, and swaps in-app are covered.
Reach Level
- /Reach has measures to prevent fraud, spammers and bots and reward real engagement. At the heart of this is your Reach Level.
- Your Reach Level is based on everything you do with your X account, not just your engagement with /Reach missions!
- We determine your Reach Level on an ongoing basis, using a combination of pretty cool proprietary AI and continuous human review.
- If you participate in repeated spammy or fraudulent activity on /Reach missions, your Reach Level can take a major hit and you can even be banned from using /Reach and lose all your accrued rewards!
- Keeping up a good habit of maintaining high quality engagement boosts your visibility on X, and improves your /Reach score.
- Bans and concerns can be discussed with our team by filing a ticket. We are likely to be very forgiving if you’re willing to make changes.
- Our next sections will go into detail on how you can boost your Reach Level, your $reach earnings, and the impact of your X account by engaging thoughtfully on X!
Optional Discussion Topics
- If you have a referral code, onboard a friend to /Reach, send them some $reach and have them create a mission, while being a resource for them if they’re confused at any point. This is a great way to find out what you aren’t clear on yourself!
- Do some missions yourself (or in your group), trying out lots of different ways of engaging in each. When the missions end and your rewards appear, notice where you got big rewards and where you got little ones. What made the difference?
- Make a thread draft explaining how to join /Reach, and post it on X. Answer questions in the replies! Have friends take a look: what makes sense, and what’s confusing to them?
